Shown here is a 24x36 One-Story Garage attached with a 16x10 One-Story Breezeway on a 30x40 Two-Story Gable with Two 8x40 Porches. Both the breezeway and the garage were raised to a 7/12 pitch from the standard 5/12. Call Darcy to discuss your unique garage options.
One-Story Gable SweetCabins
The One-Story SweetCabins have no supports inside like the Two-Story models. One-Story models are wide open inside, ready for you divide up into as many or as few rooms as you see fit.
These folks made it their own by having us build a 30x40 One-Story with Two 8x40 Porches and wrapped the front porch around with an 8x14 to a 24x22 One-Story Garage. They kept the "back 40' length of the cabin flush with the "back 22' length of the garage. These folks went with 9' sidewalls on the cabin, so with the roofline staying flush and lack of a wooden floor on the garage, this made the garage walls about 10' built on top of their block wall. Typically folks keep the block height flush around the perimeter of the cabin and the garage, at whatever height they choose. These customers also went to 16" center walls, upgraded the flooring and the porch posts to 6x6's, as well as added some porch steps. -Call Darcy to start planning your unique build and discuss other garage options.

- We'll do yours ANY SIZE up to 30' wide x ANY length with any number of porches, including wraparound, closed-in, just the roof or just the decks. OR- delete the first floor and call it a workshop or garage!
-Our One-Story SweetCabins come standard with 5/12 pitch roof, ready for a flat ceiling inside. Or, for a small fee, choose to raise the roof pitch to 7/12 and/or go to a scissor truss to gain a little cathedral ceiling inside.

This is a pretty great example of a standard build. Now included, the fascia board would be a 2x6 instead of 2x4 as pictured. These folks had us add a set of porch steps with a landing at the top. See CABIN SPECS for more information on what's included.

We like to explain to our customers that you'll get a little more bang for your buck if you go with the 2-Story Gambrel versus the 1-story. If what you want is a one-story, then by all means, go for it! We don't want to talk you out of it, but we just like our customers to be wholly informed! For usually just a TINY bit more money, you'll get double the square footage with the same size Gambrel because of the second floor. Or another way to look at it, choose to go with a Gambrel with smaller dimensions, building up instead of out with the One-Story and you'll save a bundle. Some customers that can't deal with stairs STILL will choose the Gambrel because of this, but instead of a full second floor, they'll get it with a small loft, using the extra space for guests or grandchildren. The open space up to the roof is a pretty impressive view too! But hey, the one-story is also a beauty and certainly has its place!
